Wrong Number (post by Frank Somerville KTVU)

The story of how these four people all came together inside a hospital room is priceless.
Because before this picture was taken they didn’t know each other.

It all started with a text to the wrong number.

Here’s how it happened.
The woman in the first picture is named Lindsey.
She just gave birth to a little boy.

Her friend was texting about the new baby.
But she accidentally sent the text to a complete stranger named Dennis Williams;
(That’s him with the glasses)

This is how the conversation went:
“We are at the hospital.
Having a baby today.”

Dennis wrote back:
“Congrats lol but I think someone got the wrong number.”

Dennis then said:
“I don’t know Y’all but me and the boys will be thru to take a picture with the baby.”

And that’s exactly what Dennis and his brother did.
They went to the hospital.

Afterward the woman wrote:
“I accidentally text a message about Mark and Lindsey having a baby to a number which now belongs to Dennis Williams and he and his brother came by to visit us and brought the baby a gift!

They were so sweet and kind to do this!
You two are great guys and thank you for giving to someone you didn’t know!

If we all only had this kind of heart.”

Later Dennis posted all of this on his Facebook page.
He wrote:

“Lmaoo Make This Go Viral Man We Didn’t Know Them But They Texted My Phone Saying They Was Having A Baby So We Pull Up 😂😂😂😂Share It So They Can See It 😂😂😂 💯💯 Dennis Williams

Sometimes the best moments in life are the ones that you never planned for.

And just think:
Lindsey and her husband now have a great story to tell about the birth of their child.

Throw Your Hands In The Air!! (post by John Tesh)

Go ahead and throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care!
Our mind and our movements are connected. So if you jump for joy – you’ll feel more joyful. Our emotions are based on signals from the body – and upward and outward movements can lift our mood.

So throw your hands up like your favorite team just scored a goal!
You just might feel a whole lot better afterward….

Finish Each Day and Be Done With It (post by Kirk Weisler)

oh-happy-day

I had the need yesterday to reconsider a few things I said when a wiser person would have said nothing.  There was no way to get the words back…they were tragically already out there.  There was nothing to do except to apologize.  (Something I have had a lot of experience with.)  Which is probably both a good and a bad thing.

Harder than saying you’re sorry can be letting go of it yourself…but this must be done, we must do what we can to make it right, move on, and be done with it.  If we don’t then we may be creating something else that we will regret.  We must not let the mistakes and blunders of yesterday creep in and darken the hope and potential of today.   I love what Emerson had to say on the subject.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ~Emerson

AJ (post from Frank Somerville KTVU)

”My son is in a hospital thinking his life is not worth living because 3 kids bullied him every day.”

This is what Brandy Noel posted on Facebook about her son.
Look at that picture.
Especially what it says:

“Mom, they bully me so bad, I want to kill myself.”

Brandy posted this picture earlier this month.
She said she was at her breaking point.
Here’s what she wrote:

This is my Aj.
He is the sweetest, funniest, most loveable kid.
He is my heart.

Unfortunately, he has been being by 3 older boys at an after school program for quite some time.

I’ve tried all I can to get it stopped but no one took it seriously.
I’ve talked to the program director, the parents & even the kids.
The bullying continued.

I knew my son was depressed.
I just didn’t realize how bad it was.

Then, my sweet boy just had enough & the depression & anger got to be too much for him & he acted out.

He is now hospitalized and on suicide watch.

I’m angry.
I’m angry that no one took us seriously.
I’m angry at the children’s parents for failing them & in return failing my child.

I’m angry that these parents couldn’t build their kids up with confidence, so they could help others up, rather than making them so insecure they had to tear others down.

I’m angry the adults in control did not put a stop to it.
And most of all, I’m angry because I have no control over any of it.

My son is in a hospital thinking his life is not worth living because 3 kids bullied him every day.

The one thing that has cheered him up is me reading the texts his soccer team has sent me.

Please share & comment to show him his life IS worth living.

He is my heart & I just want him to know how much he is loved.

Thankfully there is some good news.
Aj is now back home.
And he and his mom have been overwhelmed by the support.

Stay strong Aj.
Your life is DEFINITELY worth living.

As for bullies, I despise them.
They make me sick.

%$#*&^# bullies!

And if you hit “like” I will assume you feel the same way.

#StayKind (post from Frank Somerville KTVU)

This is Deborah Greene with her father.
10 months ago he committed suicide.

She learned about his death in the middle of a Whole Foods store.
She says she will never forget how the people in the store helped her that day.

And she just wrote an open letter to them that was printed in themighty.com

Dear Strangers,
I remember you.

10 months ago my cell phone rang with news of my father’s suicide.

My brother was telling me my father was dead, that he had taken his own life early that morning and through his own sobs, I remember my brother kept saying, “I’m sorry Deborah, I’m so sorry.”

And as we hung up the phone, I started to cry and scream as my whole body trembled.
Overwhelmed with emotions, I fell to the floor, my knees buckling under the weight of what I had just learned.

And you kind strangers, you were there.
You could have kept on walking, ignoring my cries, but you didn’t.

No, instead you surrounded me as I yelled through my sobs, “My father killed himself. He killed himself. He’s dead.”

I remember in that haze of emotions, one of you asked for my phone and asked who you should call.
What was my password?
You needed my husband’s name as you searched through my contacts.

I remember I could hear your words as you tried to reach my husband for me, leaving an urgent message for him to call me.

I recall hearing you discuss among yourselves who would drive me home in my car and who would follow that person to bring them back to the store.

You didn’t even know one another, but it didn’t seem to matter. You encountered me, a stranger, in the worst moment of my life and you coalesced around me with common purpose — to help.

In my fog, I told you that I had a friend, Pam, who worked at Whole Foods and one of you went in search of her.

Thankfully, she was there that morning and you brought her to me.
She took me to the back, comforting and caring for me until my husband could get to me.

And I even recall as I sat with her, one of you sent back a gift card to Whole Foods; though you didn’t know me, you wanted to offer a little something to let me know that you would be thinking of me and holding me and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

That gift card helped to feed my family, when the idea of cooking was so far beyond my emotional reach.

I never saw you after that.
But I know this to be true: If it were not for all of you, I might have simply gotten in the car and tried to drive myself home.

I wasn’t thinking straight, if I was thinking at all.
If it were not for you, I don’t know what I would’ve done in those first raw moments of overwhelming shock, anguish and grief.

But I thank God every day I didn’t have to find out.
Your kindness, your compassion, your willingness to help a stranger in need have stayed with me until this day.

And no matter how many times my mind takes me back to that horrible life altering moment, it is not all darkness.

Because you reached out to help, you offered a ray of light in the bleakest moment I’ve ever endured.

You may not remember it.
You may not remember me.
But I will never, ever forget you.

And though you may never know it, I give thanks for your presence and humanity each and every day.

–Deborah Greene

As sad as this story is, it’s also so refreshing to me how everyone jumped in to help.

I’ve always believed that down inside people are good.

And I’ve always found that when things are at their worst, it tends to bring out the best in people.

Just ask Deborah Greene
