Train Blog

Only 2 incidents today.  First incident was while I was waiting for the train, a yellow-jacket kept buzzing around my face.  You know you have look cool and not crazy, but I didn’t want to look psycho trying to shoo it off.  I guess I should have look like I was having a hot flash.  Lol lol lol  What attracted the insect was my lip gloss.  Coconut flavor and of course my lip gloss was popping and the insect knew it!  Hehehe  2nd thing was two highschool girls walking through the train saying hi to everyone which is fine but when they got to the end they were disappointed that the train was quiet and wanted to know where’s the party train.  What the Huluhoop!!!!  Hunny boo boo child us folks just got off work and trying to chill.  This is not the speeding bullet, drinks in 5 mins, disco ball, strobe light, raise the roof cause the wheels are on fire train, damgumit!!  This is light rail of sactown.  I just got the giggles because the lady sitting across from me just dozed off and must have realize it and jumped.  Situations like that where you know you can’t laugh out loud makes it even funnier!!

Lacking Cynicism – A Wise Choice (post by Kirk Weisler)

cyn·i·cism
(sn-szm)
n.
1. An attitude of scornful or jaded negativity, especially a general distrust of the integrity or professed motives of others: the public cynicism aroused by governmental scandals.
2. A scornfully or jadedly negative comment or act: “She arrived at a philosophy of her own, all made up of her private notations and cynicisms” (Henry
James).

If successful people have one common trait, it’s an utter lack of cynicism. The world owes them nothing. They go out and find what they need without asking for permission; they’re driven, talented, and work through negatives by focusing on the positives.  – Mike Zimmerman

It’s a proven fact that choosing to be positive takes more effort, focus and self discipline than being negative, cynical or sarcastic.  So let’s choose to do the hard thing, the best thing, and the right thing by choosing to focus on the positives and the possibilities as we solve the problems that are before us.

Positive Thinking from Anthony Robbin

1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

2. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

3. Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

4. When you say, “I love you,” mean it.

5. When you say, “I’m sorry,” look the person in the eye.

6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

7. Believe in love at first sight.

8. Never laugh at anyone’s dream. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live life completely.

10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

11. Don’t judge people by their relatives.

12. Talk slowly but think quickly.

13. When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, “Why do you want to know?”

14. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

15. Say “God bless you” when you hear someone sneeze.

16. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson .

17. Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

18. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

19. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

20. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

21. Spend some time alone.

Not in spite of, but because of their problems (post by Kirk Weisler)

In life, the difficult periods are the best periods to gain experience and shore up determination. As a result, my mental status is much improved because of them.

-The Dalai Lama

Life is a process of meeting and solving problems. Solving problems is a way that we test and develop our spiritual muscle. Think of outstanding people such as Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, and Helen Keller. Lincoln faced the problem of a divided country; Gandhi, an oppressed India; Keller, her personal handicaps. In rising to meet their vision, courage, fortitude, and compassion, they became great – not in spite of, but because of their problems.

Problems often come to us in the form of crisis. The Chinese glyph for the word crisis contains two symbols; one means danger and the other opportunity. When an obstacle is before you, use it to create a beneficial result.  As with Lincoln, Gandhi, and Keller, let your problems bring out your greatness.

Rather than pray for a life that is problem-free, ask for one that is solution-full. Instead of requesting that God remove the mountain before you, seek the strength to climb it. Remember that the best students always get the toughest problems. Love the problems you have, and their priceless gifts will be yours.  Listening to Your Inner Voice. Don’t “Dis” Your Ability (post from Kirk Weisler)

“You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.” –Zig Zigler

When we play at being less than who we are… who we really know we can be…. and stop short of giving our all, doing are best and yes, even going that “exrta mile”…we “dis” our ability.  We dis-honor it, our name, our reputation, our integrity… we cripple our character and even our workplace culture.

There are all kinds of things that can knock us down… physically, emotionally and even spiritually.  But there are also all kinds of things that can help us to get back up.  Friends, books, tapes, service, forgiveness, goals, determination and a willingness to recommit ourselves to being and becoming our very best.  (YES IT WILL BE HARD)  But not nearly as hard as just sitting there feeling sorry for ourselves and dissing the abilities that we have been given…by focusing on what we feel isn’t right, isn’t working properly or doesn’t seem to be there at all.

Zig is right… “You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.”  so Don’t DIS it.
