Don’t “Dis” Your Ability (post from Kirk Weisler)
“You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.” –Zig Zigler
When we play at being less than who we are… who we really know we can be…. and stop short of giving our all, doing are best and yes, even going that “exrta mile”…we “dis” our ability. We dis-honor it, our name, our reputation, our integrity… we cripple our character and even our workplace culture.
There are all kinds of things that can knock us down… physically, emotionally and even spiritually. But there are also all kinds of things that can help us to get back up. Friends, books, tapes, service, forgiveness, goals, determination and a willingness to recommit ourselves to being and becoming our very best. (YES IT WILL BE HARD) But not nearly as hard as just sitting there feeling sorry for ourselves and dissing the abilities that we have been given…by focusing on what we feel isn’t right, isn’t working properly or doesn’t seem to be there at all.
Zig is right… “You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.” so Don’t DIS it.
