This little boy who showed a police officer some love by buying his breakfast!
Broward County Deputy Donnie Jackson stopped by Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast.
Jackson wrote on Facebook, when he walked in, he felt people’s eyes on him. He says: “I could only imagine what was going through the minds of the people inside the restaurant with all the negativity surrounding law enforcement officials.”
But right as his total flashed on the screen, a little boy came up to the cash register and told Jackson he’d pay for his coffee and bagel.
Jackson refused at first, but the boy’s parents insisted. They said: “No, he really insists. He appreciates the job you guys do.'”
What the little boy didn’t know was that Jackson is a hero in the community. In 2003, he saved the lives of two young boys after their car fell into a canal. At the time, he was off duty, but that didn’t stop him from pulling over and jumping into action.
So, free breakfast it was.
Jackson said it was a good thing he had his sunglasses on because he teared up.
….Me too!
