A Smarter Day (post by Kirk Weisler)

charlie and lucy talking

Not doing something stupid may seem like doing something smart but it’s probably NOT.   Anyone can sit there and not do anything… or much of anything.  I think we call this a lack of engagement.   In addition to being a lack of engagement this lack of action seems to reflect a lack of personal or cultural confidence that allows for and encourages risk taking and innovation.

What would be the smartest thing you, your team and your organization might do to improve the potential of the future?

sAGE aDvICE (post Kirk Weisler)

sage

Heard this nearly as I woke up today.  Making something bigger is different than making more of something.  Not sure exactly what it means for me yet…but it seems to be sticking so I am going to continue to pondering it.  I’ve heard my kids say, “Go big or go home.” but I am pretty sure that’s not it.  Bigger isn’t always better – but then neither is more…even when it’s money.   Often we don’t need more, nor do we really need bigger…often all we really need is better.   Well – I am no sage – but with some thoughtful consideration, study and reflection wisdom and insight can be found in some of the most obvious and the most obscure places.

Where do you most often find the wisdom and insight that inspires you to create a better life?   Well here is a bit of wisdom from a known and respected sage…

gandhi

I like 1, 3, 6, 8 & 10 on his list the best. One of the best ways I have ever come across to learn wisdom is to listen.  But learning to listen can take a lot of work…but it’s certainly work worth doing.

make it a great day…. Kirk Out
