The Beach Is My Happy Place
Breathe in slowly, gently, and deep ……… and breathe out. Reflect on the good, not the bad. To enjoy what you have, not what you don’t have. To appreciate what you can control and not stress over what is out of your reach. To remember the good times, not the bad. Wishing you all happy thoughts.
Pack Lighter, Live and Lead Simpler (post by Kirk Weisler)
Here I stand with bags of two family members and my own.

Travel has been a big part of my life for over 30 years now. I’m no expert on packing but my habits over the years have led to a much lighter suit case, and much simpler process in preparing for any trip.
Still, it’s easy to over pack. Mean while staying lean and keeping it simple can help you be agile and reduce stress.
What about Leadership Baggage?
The same can often be true for what we try to pack into our days, into our meetings and onto our daily leadership to do lists.
Consider this… have you ever packed some emotional baggage or frustration from a previous day and lugged it around for a while only to have it come spilling out in a future meeting, and actually making your baggage heavier?
On Monday of this week I was thinking about the previous week. It was a good week, but I didn’t get it all done.
And as I was sitting there Monday morning considering the carry over to this week I realized that not every thing I was carrying over needs to still be done and that at least some of my carry baggage is nonsensical and I don’t need to pack it into this weeks journey and certainly not into todays.
Treat today as a short trip. Don’t pack more in your bags than you need.
And when you are done with something, really be done with it.

You shall begin it with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. Emerson
